A STORY OF INNOVATION AND PARTNERSHIP

Solta Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLTM) is a global leader in the medical aesthetics market providing innovative, safe, and effective solutions for patients that also enhance and expand the practice of medical aesthetics for physicians. The company offers products to address a range of skin issues under the industry's four premier brands: Thermage®, Fraxel®, Isolaz®, and CLARO®.

The Company was incorporated in 1996 as Thermage, Inc., and received initial FDA clearance for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles, and commercially launched its first aesthetic device, Thermage, in 2002. Thermage is an innovative, non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) procedure for tightening and contouring skin. Thermage was the first aesthetic energy device company to successfully employ a recurring revenue model from disposable treatment tips. Thermage subsequently received a series of FDA clearances effectively enabling treatment of all parts of the body. The Company went public in an initial public offering and began trading on the NASDAQ Global Market on November 10, 2006.

On December 23, 2008, the Company acquired privately held Reliant Technologies, Inc. and their Fraxel product line of proprietary fractional laser technology. Fraxel delivers minimally invasive clinical solutions to resurface aging and sun damaged skin. The acquisition combined two companies with strong branded products and procedures, Thermage and Fraxel. As result, in January 2009 the company chose to change its corporate name from Thermage, Inc. to Solta Medical, Inc. to provide an "umbrella" corporate identity under which branded aesthetic products and procedures could be established and maintained.

On February 26, 2010, Solta acquired privately held Aesthera Corporation and its proprietary Isolaz product line for the treatment of acne. Isolaz is based on proprietary Photopneumaticâ„¢ technology and is a leading system with FDA marketing clearance for the treatment of inflammatory acne, comedonal acne, pustular acne, and mild–to–moderate inflammatory acne. These conditions impact an estimated forty–to–fifty million individuals in the U.S. annually. Isolaz treatments have an immediate visible impact on acne 24 – 48 hours post first treatment.

On October 11, 2010 Solta acquired CLRS Technology Corporation, the developer, manufacturer and marketer of the CLARO acne treatment device, giving Solta direct access to an already marketed and FDA cleared consumer medical device. CLARO is a personal care acne system that is based on the same Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology used by skin experts worldwide. CLARO is the first FDA cleared over–the–counter IPL device that uses a powerful combination of both heat and light to clear skin quickly and naturally.

Solta Medical has established itself as a unique player in the energy–based segment of the aesthetics market due to its recurring revenue model from disposable treatment tips that account for approximately one-half of total revenue. The Company has an installed base of over 7,000 customers. Since 2002, over one million Thermage, Fraxel and Isolaz procedures have been performed in over 100 countries.
